坂本龍一トリビュート展 音楽／アート／メディア（NTTインターコミュニケーション・センター ） Tribute to RYUICHI SAKAMOTO: Music / Art / Media (NTT InterCommunication Center)

 

今年の2月、坂本龍一が亡くなった。

若い頃からYMOの音楽に親しんでいた世代にとって、その死は大きな衝撃だった。高橋幸宏がその直前の1月に亡くなったことも、その衝撃をより大きなものにした。

この美術館では、たびたび坂本龍一と他のアーティストがコラボレートした展覧会が開催されてきた。

こうした追悼のための展覧会が開かれるには、最も適した場所の一つだろう。

奥の部屋では、真ん中に展示されていた毛利悠子によるピアノをその一部としたアート作品を中心に、ダムタイプと坂本龍一の作品、李禹煥が坂本龍一のレコードジャケット用に書いた絵画作品、アルヴァ・ノトとのライブ映像、様々なアーティストによる追悼の言葉などが展示されていた。

隣の部屋では、巨大な画面に真鍋大度の映像作品が流れていて、時折、坂本龍一の音楽が聞こえてくる。

そうした音楽を聴きながら、坂本龍一の様々な音楽が記憶に甦ってきた。

In February of this year, Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away.

His death was a huge shock to the generation that had been familiar with YMO's music since they were young. The fact that Yukihiro Takahashi had passed away in January, just before that, made the impact even greater.

This museum has often held exhibitions in collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto and other artists.

It would be one of the most suitable places to hold such a memorial exhibition.

In the back room, there are art works by Yuko Mori that include a piano as part of the display in the center, works by Dumb Type and Ryuichi Sakamoto, paintings by Lee Ufan for Ryuichi Sakamoto's record jackets, On display were live footage with Alva Noto and condolences from various artists.

In the next room, Daito Manabe's video work is playing on a huge screen, and Ryuichi Sakamoto's music can occasionally be heard.

While listening to such music, various music by Ryuichi Sakamoto came flooding back to my memory.
