ロイヤル コペンハーゲンと北欧デザインの煌めき（横須賀美術館） Royal Copenhagen and the sparkle of Scandinavian design (Yokosuka Museum of Art)

北欧デザインについて展覧会は、最近、よく行われるようになった。

デンマークの王立磁器製作所から始まったロイヤルコペンハーゲンは、そうした展覧会では必ず紹介される。

ジェンセンはそこで陶工としてキャリアをスタートし、今ではジョージ・ジェンセンとして独立して、コペンハーゲンではロイヤルコペンハーゲンの隣に店を構えている。

後半は、スウェーデンの陶器やガラス製品が紹介されていた。

ロールストランドは、北欧最古の陶窯。オレフォスやコスタというガラス器も展示されていた。

北欧デザインらしい、シンプルで個性的な作品が多く、でもフィンランドのガラス器とはまた違った魅力を感じた。

Exhibitions about Scandinavian design have become more popular recently.

Royal Copenhagen, which began as the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Denmark, is always featured at such exhibitions.

Jensen began his career as a potter there, and now runs his own business as Georg Jensen, with a shop in Copenhagen next to Royal Copenhagen.

In the second half, Swedish ceramics and glass products were introduced.

Rorstrand is the oldest pottery kiln in Northern Europe. Glassware called Orefos and Costa were also on display.

Many of the pieces were simple and unique, typical of Scandinavian design, but I felt that they had a different charm than Finnish glassware.
