インド細密画（府中市立美術館） Indian Miniature Painting (Fuchu Art Museum)

 

畠中コレクションによる、インド細密画展。

以前、別な場所で行われた展覧会で、同じく畠中コレクションによるインド細密画展を見る機会があった。

東京国立博物館の東洋館の地下には、インド細密画を展示しているコーナーがある。

しかし、毎回、展示数は限られているので、久しぶりにまとまった数のインド細密画を楽しむことができた。

インド細密画は、大きくはムガール帝国で作られたムガル絵画と、その他のラージプト諸国で作られたラージプト絵画に分けられるという。

畠中コレクションでは、特にラージプト絵画が充実しているようだ。

展示は、ヒンドゥーの神々、ラーマーヤナなどの物語の世界、王や貴族、夫人たちとの肖像画、などのテーマに別れて展示されていた。

一つ一つ絵を見ていくと、ラージプト絵画と言えども、描かれた土地や流派などの違いが素人目にもわかってくる。

そうした違いについて、解説してあった方が、より内容を楽しめたのにと、少し残念だった。

An exhibition of Indian miniature paintings by the Hatanaka Collection.

Previously, I had the opportunity to see an exhibition of Indian miniature paintings by the Hatanaka Collection at an exhibition held at a different location.

In the basement of the Tokyo National Museum's Oriental Gallery, there is a corner exhibiting Indian miniature paintings.

However, since the number of exhibits is limited each time, I was able to enjoy a large number of Indian miniature paintings for the first time in a while.

Indian miniature paintings can be broadly divided into Mughal paintings created during the Mughal Empire and Rajput paintings created in other Rajput countries.

The Hatanaka collection seems to have a particularly rich selection of Rajput paintings.

The exhibits were divided into themes such as Hindu gods, the world of stories such as the Ramayana, and portraits of kings, nobles, and their wives.

When you look at each painting one by one, even though they are Rajput paintings, even to the untrained eye, you can see the differences in the area and style in which they were painted.

I was a little disappointed because I would have enjoyed the content more if the differences had been explained.
