テート美術館のコレクション展。光をテーマにした絵画、写真、オブジェなどの多彩な作品が展示されていた。
ウイリアム・ターナー、ジョン・コンスタブル、バーン＝ジョーンズ、クロード・モネ、ワシリー・カンディンスキー、マーク・ロスコ、ゲルハルト・リヒター、草間彌生など、時代も地域も異なった様々なアーティストの作品を楽しむことができた。
最も楽しみにしていたウィリアム・ブレイクの作品は2点。もう少し展示して欲しかった。
ジョン・エヴァレット・ミレイが描いた、森の中の光を描いた作品は、カンバスから本当に光が溢れ出しているように見えて、何とも言えず美しい。
ウイリアム・ターナーがロイヤル・アカデミーの授業のために描いた図解が何点も展示されていたが、こうしたコレクション展ではユニークな企画。
モホイ＝ナジから始まり、日本の前衛写真につながる、多くの写真作品も印象的だった。
部屋の中に青い光が充満する、ジェームズ・タレルの作品。直島の地中美術館で浴びた、タレルの光のことを思い出しながら、芳醇なその空間感覚を満喫することができた。
最後に展示されていた、オラファー・エリアソンのミラー・ボールのような作品は圧巻で、この展覧会のテーマを見事に象徴していた作品だと感じた。
Collection exhibition at the Tate Museum. A variety of works such as paintings, photographs, and objects with the theme of light were exhibited.
I was able to enjoy the works of various artists from different eras and regions, including William Turner, John Constable, Burne-Jones, Claude Monet, Wassily Kandinsky, Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter, and Yayoi Kusama.
There were two works by William Blake that I was most looking forward to. I wanted to show you a little more.
John Everett Millais' work depicting the light in the forest is indescribably beautiful as the light seems to really overflow from the canvas.
Many illustrations drawn by William Turner for the Royal Academy class were exhibited, but this is a unique project for such a collection exhibition.
The many photographic works, starting with Moholy-Nagy and leading to Japanese avant-garde photography, were also impressive.
A work by James Turrell that fills the room with blue light. While remembering Turrell's light bathed in Chichu Art Museum in Naoshima, I was able to fully enjoy the mellow sense of space.
The work that was exhibited at the end, like Olafur Eliasson's mirror ball, was a masterpiece, and I felt that it was a work that perfectly symbolized the theme of this exhibition.
