聖像・仏像・彫像（日本民藝館） Icons/Buddhas/Sculptures (Japan Folk Crafts Museum)

聖像・仏像・彫像などの様々な彫刻を展示したコレクション展覧会。

木喰、円空仏に始まり、韓国の素朴な仏像、ニューメキシコのサントスと呼ばれるキリスト教の聖像、などが展示されていた。

アメリカ、アフリカ、アジアの様々な個性的な仮面も展示されていて、とても興味深かった。

また、生誕120年を記念して、日本民藝館が所有する棟方志功の代表的な作品が展示されていた。ツァートストラをテーマにした版画があり、日本的なイメージの強い棟方志功とは結びつかなかったが、その当時の時代の雰囲気を知ることができた。

バーナード・リーチとマイケル・カーデューの特集展示もあった。カーデューはセント・アイヴスでのリーチの最初の弟子だったということだが、その作品を初めて目にすることができた。

A collection exhibition displaying various sculptures such as iconography, Buddha statues, and statues.

Starting with Mokujiki and Enkubutsu, there were simple Korean Buddhist statues, Christian icons called Santos in New Mexico, and more.

It was very interesting to see various unique masks from America, Africa, and Asia on display.

In addition, representative works of Shiko Munakata owned by the Japan Folk Crafts Museum were exhibited to commemorate the 120th anniversary of his birth. There is a print on the theme of Zattostra, and I could not connect with Shiko Munakata, who has a strong Japanese image, but I was able to know the atmosphere of that time.

There was also a special exhibition on Bernard Leach and Michael Cardew. Cardew was said to have been Leach's first apprentice at St Ives, but he was the first to see the work.
