紹介されていたのは、個人の住宅が多かったが、その地域の歴史、住宅を取り巻く背景を理解した上で、施主の個人的な経験や感覚にも寄り添っていて、感銘を受けた。
その一方で、イタリアのトリノの社会センターを訪問した記録が、地図と写真、メモなどで紹介されていて、活動範囲の広さにも驚かされた。

イリイチは良いとしても、かなり過激な政治思想を紹介する本も紹介されていて、そのユニークな活動の背景にあるものに触れたような気がした。
