フィンランド・グラスアート（東京都庭園美術館） Finish Glass Art (Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum)

フィンランドのグラスアートと言えば、これまではアアルトやカイ・フランクなどに焦点を当てることが多かった。

この展覧会では、最初にグンネル・ニューマンを取り上げて、これまでとは違うな、という印象を受けた。

その後は、お馴染みのカイ・フランク、ヴィルッカラ、サルパネヴァなどが続く。

自然の要素を取り入れたヴィルッカラの作品は、いつ見てもその造形に驚かされる。

サルパネヴァのフィンランディアという大きな作品は、フィンランドのナショナリズムをそのまま造形に仕立てたような貫禄が感じられた。

トイッカと言えば、鳥の作品でよく知られるが、今回はテーブルシリーズの作品も多かった。

最後には、若手の作家たちの作品も展示されていた。

Speaking of Finnish glass art, the focus has often been on Aalto and Kaj Franck.

After that, his familiar Kaj Franck, Vilkala, Sarpaneva and others follow.

Every time I look at Vilkkar's work, which incorporates elements of nature, I am amazed by its form.

Sarpaneva's Finlandia, a large work, had a sense of dignity, as if it were a form of Finnish nationalism.

Speaking of Toikka, it is well known for its works of birds, but this time there were many works of the table series.
