土御門家がみた宇宙（國學院大學博物館） The universe seen by the Tsuchimikado family (Kokugakuin University Museum)

 

陰陽師の安倍晴明は、誰ものが知るポピュラーな存在だ。

その安倍晴明の子孫の一派である土御門家は、江戸時代に幕府や朝廷に認められて全国の陰陽師を統括する立場にあった。

その土御門家の資料を元に、歴史上の天体イベントと歴史上の事件との関係や、江戸時代の彗星の観測結果などが紹介されていた。

科学が発達する以前は、日食などが起こると飢饉や政治的な事件が起こると考えられていた。自然の世界は人間の世界と繋がっている、マクロコスモスという考え方がその背景にはあったのだろう。

土御門家以外の資料も展示されていたが、その中には江戸時代に日本でオーロラが見えた記録などもあって、とても興味深かった。

Onmyoji Abeno Seimei is a popular figure that everyone knows.

The Tsuchimikado family, one of the descendants of Abeno Seimei, was recognized by the bakufu and the Imperial Court during the Edo period and was in a position to control onmyoji throughout the country.

Based on the materials of the Tsuchimikado family, the relationship between historical celestial events and historical incidents, observation results of comets in the Edo period, etc. were introduced.

Before the development of science, it was thought that famine and political events would occur when a solar eclipse occurred. The idea behind this is that the natural world is connected to the human world, the macrocosmos.

Materials other than those of the Tsuchimikado family were also on display, including a record of an aurora being seen in Japan during the Edo period, which was very interesting.
