日本橋高島屋で開催された北欧デザイン展。
北欧を中心とした家具や日常品の収集で知られる織田コレクションの作品で構成された。
副題に、”ていねいに美しく暮らす”という言葉があり、単に個々のデザイナーの業績や作品を紹介するだけでなく、北欧の暮らしのあり方を提示して、自分たちの生活を見つめ直す、ということを意図した展覧会だった。
織田コレクションの中心を占めるイスについては、多くのスペースが割かれて、様々な形のイスが並べられていて、その一つ一つに座って座り心地を試したくなった。
そして、オイバ・トイッカ、カイ・フランク、タピオ・ヴィルカラ、ティモ・サルパネヴァ、アアルト、アルネ・イミール・ヤコブセン、フィン・ユール、ハンス・ヨルゲンセン・ウェグナー、らの有名なデザイナーたちの作品は、この展覧会のメインであり、やはり見応えがあった。
また、展示スペースの一角には、北欧のある家の居間を再現したコーナーがあり、周囲の明かりを変えて1日の時間の流れの中で部屋の印象がどのように変わるかを再現していた。
デザイナーたちは、単に個々のイスやテーブル、器などをデザインするのではなく、実際の暮らしの中でどのように使われるのか、見えるのかを意識してデザインしているということがよくわかった。
展示の最後には、北欧のそれぞれの国の環境問題への取り組みがパネルで紹介されていた。
美しく暮らそうとする北欧の人々の発想は、家の中だけではなく、社会全体を変える取り組みにも繋がっているようだ。

As for the chairs that occupy the center of the Oda collection, a lot of space was allocated, and chairs of various shapes were lined up, and I wanted to sit on each one and test the comfort.
Works by famous designers such as Oiva Toikka, Kai Franck, Tapio Wirkkala, Timo Sarpaneva, Aalto, Arne Ymir Jacobsen, Finn Juhl and Hans Jorgensen Wegner will be part of the exhibition. It was the main course, and it was worth seeing.
In one corner of the exhibition space, there is a corner that reproduces the living room of a Scandinavian house, and it reproduces how the impression of the room changes over the course of a day by changing the surrounding lighting. rice field.
It was clear that designers do not simply design individual chairs, tables, and bowls, but design with an awareness of how they will be used and how they will look in real life.
At the end of the exhibition, a panel introduced the environmental issues of each country in Northern Europe.
The Nordic people's idea of living beautifully seems to be connected not only to their homes, but also to efforts to change society as a whole.
