ゲリラガールズ（渋谷パルコ） Guerrilla Girls (Shibuya Parco)

 

3月8日の国際女性デーに合わせて、その前後の10日間、渋谷パルコの1階展示スペースで、ゲリラガールズ展が開催された。

ゲリラ・ガールズは、アート界におけるジェンダー問題を過激な手法で問題提起を行なってきたアート集団。

会場は小さな部屋が2つのみ、ビデオとメッセージ・ポスターが展示されている、という小規模なものだった。

しかし、会場のガラスの壁には、”モダン・アート界において女性は4%しかいないのに、描かれているヌードの76％は女性のヌードだ。”という強烈なメッセージが書かれていた。

国際女性デーという日に、自由という言葉が使われることが多いアート界の不都合な事実に目を向けるのは、決して場違いなことではないだろう。

In conjunction with International Women's Day on March 8th, the guerrilla girls exhibition was held in the exhibition space on the 1st floor of Shibuya Parco for 10 days before and after.

Guerrilla Girls is an art group that has raised the issue of gender issues in the art world with radical methods.

The venue was small with only two small rooms displaying videos and message posters.

However, on the glass wall of the venue, a strong message was written: "In the modern art world, women make up only 4%, but 76% of the nudes depicted are female nudes."

On International Women's Day, it wouldn't be out of place to look at the inconvenient facts about the art world, where the word freedom is often used.
