ウェンデリン・ファン・オルデンボルフ 柔らかな舞台（東京都現代美術館） wendelien van oldenborgh, unset on-set (Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo)

 

オランダ出身で、現在はベルリンを拠点に活動する映像作家、ウェンデリン・ファン・オルデンボルフの日本では初めてとなる展覧会。

オルデンボルフは、シナリオを作らず、スタッフやクルーとの対話を通じて共同作業で作品を作り出していく。

そのテーマは、ジェンダー、植民地主義、ナショナリズム、家父長制など多岐にわたる。

会場は、オルデンボルフのアイデアでまるで撮影のセット現場のような雰囲気で、その中で彼女の６つの作品が上映されていた。

”彼女たちの”という作品は、この展覧会のために日本で製作されたもので、林芙美子と宮本百合子という2人の女性作家をテーマにしている。

それぞれの作品は、どれもおよそ30分ほど。

時間の関係で、じっくりと見ることができなかったが、いつか機会があれば、その作品をゆっくりと堪能したい。

The first exhibition in Japan of Dutch-born filmmaker Wendelin van Oldenburg, currently based in Berlin.

Oldenburg does not create a scenario, but creates a work through collaborative work through dialogue with the staff and crew.

The themes range from gender, colonialism, nationalism, and patriarchy.

The venue was Oldenburg's idea, with an atmosphere that resembled that of a filming set, in which six of her works were screened.

The work "Theirs" was produced in Japan for this exhibition and is based on the theme of two female artists, Fumiko Hayashi and Yuriko Miyamoto.

Each piece is approximately 30 minutes.

Due to time constraints, I wasn't able to take a closer look at it, but if I ever have the chance, I'd like to take my time and thoroughly enjoy it.
