祈り・藤原新也（世田谷美術館） The Eyes of the Prayer : Photographs and Works of Shinya Fujiwara (Setagaya Art Museum)

2023年の年始。3が日はのんびりと家で過ごして、4日からアート散歩を楽しんだ。

今年最初に訪れた展覧会は、世田谷美術館で行われた、藤原新也の展覧会だった。

藤原新也と言えば、『メメント・モリ』のインパクトのある作品のイメージが強い。

この展覧会では、日本巡礼という何気ない情景をテーマにした作品や、バリ島の美しい花や鳥の写真、アイドルのポートレートなど、柔らかいイメージの作品も展示されていて、藤原新也のイメージが少し変わった。

中でもとりわけ印象的だったのは、香港の雨傘運動を追った作品で、香港の若者たちに共感を覚えた藤原新也の姿が、写真には写ってはいないが、明らかにそこにはある。

展示スペースのところどころに、藤原の言葉や、大きな書も展示されていた。

写真だけはない、藤原新也の多方面にわたる活動がよくわかる内容だった。

Among them, I was particularly impressed by the work that followed the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong. Shinya Fujiwara, who sympathized with the youth of Hong Kong, was clearly there, though not in the photo.

Here and there in the exhibition space, Fujiwara's words were also displayed on panels.

It was a content that clearly showed Shinya Fujiwara's multifaceted activities that were not limited to photographs.
