この美術館が、丸の内に移転する前の最後の展覧会を訪れたのは、ちょうど2年前のことだった。
随分と久しぶりに、武蔵野の面影が残る、美術館の建物にいざなうゆるい坂道を登った。
この美術館の展示スペースはそれほど広くない。展示されていたのはおよそ20点ほど。
初めて目にした作品はごくわずかで、かつてこの場所で行われた展覧会で何度も、あるいは何度か目にした作品が並んでいた。
その中でも、今回の展示の中でとりわけ印象に残ったのは、寛政期、あるいは桃山時代の華やかな雰囲気が感じられる四条河原遊楽図屏風と、王維の詩の中の世界を桃源郷のように表した池大雅と、幼い頃の池大雅との思い出を幻想的に描いた木米の文人画だろうか。
それぞれの作品には、余韻を感じさせる作品の解説も添えられていて、どの内容もとても良かった。
またいつか、この場所でこうした展覧会を開催して欲しいものだ。
It was exactly two years ago that I visited the museum for its last exhibition before it moved to Marunouchi.
For the first time in a long time, I climbed a gentle slope that led me to the museum building, where the vestiges of Musashino still remain.
The exhibition space of this museum is not so large. About 20 items were on display.
There were very few works that I saw for the first time, and there were works that I had seen many times, or even several times, at exhibitions held at this place.
Among them, what left a particularly strong impression on me in this exhibition was the Shijo Riverside Yuraku-zu folding screen, which evokes the glamorous atmosphere of the Kansei period or the Momoyama period, and the world in Wang Wei's poetry, which is displayed like a paradise. Perhaps it is Mokubei's literati painting that fantastically depicts the memories of Ike Taiga and his childhood memories of Ike Taiga.
Each work was accompanied by an explanation of the work that made me feel the afterglow, and all the contents were very good.
I would like to see an exhibition like this held at this place someday.
